Sure, I got to sleep in a couple hours, but I had to wake up to the alarm, shoot out of bed and jump in the shower before my daughters got up. I had to crack the whip to urge them to be on time. After their dentist appointments I took them for a bang trim, then came home to deal with my internet issues. The only great thing about yesterday was they didn't have any cavities. Otherwise it was just a normal day plus two.
This morning I only got to sleep in one extra hour because I had to get my youngest to the church as she headed off to a youth rally. No going back to bed though, I had to get my oldest up because we are going off to a college information day late this morning.
Really, I do want what's best for my kids, but I've never encouraged my children to sign up for anything that involves regular weekend, morning assistance by me. Fortunately, my kids are not interested in sports, scouts or anything that would take them too far out of the social bubble sphere of home. Although, now that they are getting older, I am encouraging them to grow up and move away.
So I realize this will require some weekend, holiday, vacation, random school days off, alarm clock mornings on my part. And hey, I am willing to do my part if it means they'll move away someday.
