Oddly enough I recognized all the charges except one for 9 cents. Apparently, the frauds put out feelers first, which, I have to say is rather thoughtful of them to give the credit card company a heads up before they do a large-purchase smack down.
Several years ago, while my sister was having major surgery someone was whooping it up in New Zealand with her credit card number. When she got a hold of her credit card company they asked her if she was "sure" she hadn't been whooping it up in New Zealand. HA! I'm sure she would rather have been in New Zealand than recovering from having her guts yanked out and stuffed back in place. They did cancel the charges, but to this day I think she wishes she had really been in New Zealand; although if she had spent all the money the frauds did, she'd probably still be paying off her credit card.
Anyway, I was done using my credit card for the season anyway and everyone who deserves it is going to get their money. But it's just too bad we have to be on constant alert to defend our honor. It's kind of like the moat and fortress, but in a virtual way. Probably a lot harder too. At least with a moat and fortress you can see who's coming.
Ah well, 'tis the season!
