This is the 2nd sunny day in a row we've had. We haven't had any sunny days "in a row" in a long time. I think both my kids are sun shocked with disbelief because they are still wearing their long pants and sweat shirts to school today. I'm in capris and a tank top and it's plenty warm enough.
I think I am sun shocked but in a different way. My youngest missed the bus this morning. You know what happens when she misses the bus? We have to go to Starbucks just to waste time before I drive her all the way to school so she's not too early. Anyway, on the way down there I was thinking about what day it is and I had two thoughts: "Wow, it's Wednesday already" and "Darn, it's only Wednesday."
I don't know if the sunny days make me feel like we should be done with school or if this is one of the only weeks I have where I don't have a million things planned, but I feel a bit disoriented. Because it was pouring rain and cold on Monday (I had to scrape my windshield that morning) and today it's warm and sunny, I have lost track of my place in time. I went to writers' group today. It's every two weeks, but it's like I hadn't been there in a lifetime. The last time I was there I was bundled up with long pants and a sweatshirt and today I'm wearing capris and a tank top.
Yesterday I even hung our laundry outside to dry and it got dry.
I dare not say our terminal winter is over. We have one or two more days of that bright orb in the sky and then it's back to rain. I better get out in the garden right now before the rain sets it again.
Happy spring, I hope you enjoyed it! Let's just hope summer doesn't get as confused.
