But just like when pushing a baby out through your loins and it hurts so bad you're ready to give up, there is no way back. That baby is a comin'.
The carpet has been pulled up, the walls have been painted, all the stuff from the room is stacked everywhere; that baby is a comin'!
I know I'll be happy when it's done, that room has been bugging me for years. The kids are really getting excited about the changes. One of them picked the room color and they both love it. It's gold, inspired by one of their favorite movies "Bridge to Terabithia." There was a "gold" room the whole family in the movie painted together, although I did nix the end look of the movie's room; you could see the brush strokes after it was done. The kids saw the wisdom in making it a finished paint job and enthusiastically pitched in when I showed them why our room needed another coat of paint.
Maybe it's just because it's time to lay the floor and stuff like that makes me feel helpless, because I can't do anything about it. But my husband is going to work on it today, since we are having Thanksgiving next week.
And although I am not in a traditional Thanksgiving "turkey day" state of mind, I am very thankful. I am thankful for my family; my kids for being really good kids, my husband for being so tolerate of my remodeling projects, my mother and sister for being my cheerleaders when I'm lacking confidence and all my friends for being in my corner.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
