Creme (pronounced crayma) is coffee foam. It happens when you have a really good espresso machine and for you coffee lovers, it tastes divine.
My machine has been falling short of it's creme expectations the last couple weeks. This machine is also very self-cleaning; as in I rarely have to clean the insides of the machine. I wipe down the outside and clean the accessories, but it's been pretty self-maintaining these four years.
But now I think I may need to intervene. Because if there's no creme, it's just plain coffee and I may as well pull the drip maker out of the closet.
I've probably had it for four years, and I've only needed to clean it once. I have to run several batches of diluted white vinegar through it to clear it out. It's just one of those things that takes some time and I forget about until the next morning when I wake up and I get no creme on my coffee.
I have no time this morning because I'm on my way to writers group. Maybe I'll remember it while I'm making dinner.
So there are two things that mess up my mornings: having a messy kitchen and no creme on my cup of coffee. Because again, if there's no creme, it's just a cup of coffee.
