Well I couldn't get the "looking at the trees while I write" obsession out of my head. So I was lamenting to my husband about it and how it couldn't be done and why couldn't I have as beautiful of a work space as I could even though it was in my garage... Then my husband said the most romantic thing to me since we've been married, "All we have to do is buy a longer cable."
So on Saturday, we rearranged the room and it's perfect and I not only can look out at the trees while I write, but while I write and bike. And not only did we rearrange the room, but remember all those annoying bins full of stuff I've been complaining about? Gone! Yes, I sorted every annoying "what the heck is in this" bin.
I also let go of a large piece of furniture and have several boxes of stuff on their way out the door Now I have enough stuff I'm actually going to have a garage sale.
There is so much more space in here, I feel so much less cramped. It's pretty amazing. All because of six simple words from that sweet husband of mine and his tolerance of my crazy whims.
It's the subject of my next column in the Covington Reporter. You can read it right here:
Seeing the Trees through the Forest
