My family does their best to make it a nice Mother's Day for me too, but usually I am doing the cooking. I figure we are blessed to still have both Grandmothers in our lives and that my time will come eventually.
I did get my breakfast and coffee made this morning. And I am one of those women who doesn't make my husband guess what I want and we bought a Red Dragon Japanese maple at Costco the other day when we were shopping for lawn mowers. The girls and I went to Applebees for dinner last night because my husband was in the Tri-Cities at a swap meet and doesn't like Applebees; so that was a treat. Plus, since he's the only one actually bringing money into the household, he paid.
Maybe the sun will shine on us after our morning of torrential rain; I see it trying to peek out. We have a drive up to Whidbey Island and every year we've been able to hang out on the beach. Let's see if the record holds this year. Either way, we'll eat food and visit. It always works out in the end.
Happy Mother's Day!
