Usually on his birthday I have a seafood fest for him, but because we are having our Thanksgiving dinner today with his parents and my mother, my daughters and I took him out for sushi last night. The girls and I gave him his presents; a new watch from me and a bag of peanut m&m's from the girls along with a card from each of them promising not to ask him for any of the m&m's. It's really the best gift they could have given him.
While I was digging around for some additional pictures to hang in the newly remodeled room, I dug out some photos I had blow up to poster size for decorations at our wedding. They were of our "engagement" picture which was taken in a photo booth at the Puyallup fair, where, at the top of the ferris wheel, he asked me to marry him. There was also one of us, probably shortly after we got engaged, in the quaint, water-front town of Langley.
So in the car ride on the way home from eating sushi, we were holding hands talking about how young we looked and how fast the time has gone, when my youngest pipes up from the back seat, "You two are decomposing at an alarming rate!"
So much for sentimental reminiscing. But happy birthday to my husband!
