I think my husband's favorite word is "hermetically." Whenever he has to open a package that's especially difficult he always uses "hermetically," as in "It's hermetically sealed."
It's actually only appropriate for packages which are airtight; although some packages feel like they must be airtight. National Security should take their cues from toy manufacturers in regard to security. Sometimes it's near impossible to open up toys. In the meantime, the kids are crying because you have to destroy the toy to open the package.
I'm not in love with the word "relevant," because I always think it should be "revelant." So when I use it I have to pause to make sure I get it right.
I do like "elixir," but it brings up a weird memory. I was having lunch with a former boss I used to work with at an architectural firm. I had a lot of respect for her and thought of her as an intelligent woman. So when I used the word "elixir" and she didn't know what I was talking about, I figured maybe it wasn't really a word and felt kind of embarrassed over it. Now that I'm older and realize it is indeed a word, I wonder how she could have not known about it. I wish I had had the confidence to just explain to her the meaning of it instead of assuming I must not have known what I was talking about, because she was an authority figure.
Anyway, just a few words that I contemplate when I'm sitting contemplating. And now that I'm typing contemplate, it doesn't look right even though the spell check says it is. There's something else for me to contemplate.
