I often think of opening my sun roof and sticking my hand through and flipping them off. But with road rage these days I'm afraid they'll shoot my hand off. When it's raining I try and drive in the wettest part of the road hoping to cover their windsheild in hopes they'll back off, it never works, but it makes me feel better.
Really, tailgating to make someone go faster is like talking louder to someone who doesn't understand English; it doesn't work. It makes me go slower. When drivers do get frustrated enough and blast around me, I pull up behind them at the stop light. It's just a good thing they went around me, because now they are in front of me. They remind me of my dogs when I walk them together: It doesn't matter where they are going, they just strain on the leash to get there first.
It's really annoying when people tailgate on the highway. Gosh, there are usually 2 or 3 other lanes they could choose. Why choose mine. Then I'm just nervouse and really slow down. I'm not good with math, but I am doing the calculations in my head about if I had to hit the brakes would they have enough time to stop or would they crunch my car. If I didn't like my car so much, I'd hit the brakes just to prove a point.
Anyway, for those of you who tailgate, you won't get their any earlier, you'll just irritate people on the way. I'll be the one going slower and slower just to irritate you.
