Captain Obvious came to my rescue yesterday in the form of sitting with my mother in the instructional sleep apnea machine class. The machine has a humidifier attached to it. I haven't used that part of it for months because it's usually either raining or humid enough in the Pacific Northwest. The only time I've used it is when it's really cold and dry in the winter. Even that condition lasted only a week or so.
And now, not only are we having high temperatures, but the air is unusually humid (I seem to remember this happening around the same time last year). I know it's not humid compared to Florida or Chicago standards (two places I've been that I've know are extremely humid), but for around here.
The instructor talked about not needing the humidifier portion when it's humid, but even when it's not unusually humid, I don't use it anyway. I admit, part of it is because I'm lazy and don't want to have to worry about one more thing to sanitize (the instructor was obsessively sanitizing with her bottle of gel).
That's when Captain Obvious struck. I have air conditioning. It dries the air in the house out. When it's humid outside, I don't turn the air off when I got to bed and open the window at night.
It is not humid in my house.
So I used the humidifier last night. When I woke around 7:00 I had a slight headache, but nothing like I had yesterday (it woke me at 4:30am and I didn't get rid of it until 1:00pm). I thought, "Darn, that wasn't the issue."
Then Captain Obvious tapped me on the shoulder, "Uh, you only had one cup of coffee yesterday. Limited caffeine one day always gives you a headache the next."
That's just how I like to spend my days - Sorting Headache. Oh, and Laundry.
